In 2010 the AMF will offer the following scholarships and other awards
1.Initial overseas study programme:
- Grants to current Australian Residents who are applying for a programme of further artistic study in the UK, USA or Europe in 2010.
- Consideration will be given to instrumentalists up to the age of 26, and vocalists up to the age of 30.We will also consider composition as a category for support: same age limit to apply as to instrumentalists.
- Grants will be made based on a competitive application process for which applicants will need to submit a completed general application form with an audition recording as specified (below).
- Shortlisted candidates will normally be asked to attend a live auditions in June (tbc) in Sydney and Melbourne In 2010 awards of $35k, $20K, and $12K will be given.
2. Initial and existing overseas study programme:
- Grants to Australian citizens currently resident abroad who are about to commence, or already undertaking a programme of further study as performers or composers in UK, USA or Europe in 2010.
- Grants will be made based on a competative application process for which applicants will need to: Submit a completed general application form with an audition recording as specified (below).
- Shortlisted candidates will normally be asked to attend live auditions held at the Wigmore Hall, London, on 15 July 2010.
- In 2010 a number of grants (typically between £1-£10K) will be awarded to support specific areas of musical study and development. All awardees are offered mentoring and performance opportunities, and the Australian Music Foundation organises concerts and masterclasses throughout the year.
